Building an Engaged Campus: BHCC and Community Partners Gather for Strategic Planning

Friday, February 3, 2017

Today at BHCC, 250 representatives of BHCC partners, faculty, staff and student leaders gathered in the gym for a morning of strategic planning. Participants engaged in discussion based on a set of guiding questions to help form the College’s next set of high-level, long-range goals.

Engaged Campus event February 2017Moving from table to table, each planning group of community partners and BHCC content experts discussed one guiding question in a world café format. Questions included “How can BHCC leverage our cultural wealth and diversity to advance student success?” and “In what ways can BHCC further collaborate with local colleges, businesses, organizations and industries in order to meet the needs of the workforce?” After fifteen minutes, groups moved on to the next table to focus on the next guiding question.

The community event follows a six-month series of BHCC Engaged Campus planning events, during which college representatives have worked together to determine the needs and direction of the College to best serve BHCC students. These events will culminate into a new set of six-year College goals.
