Cooking with Charlie: Meatless Mondays
Do you have a delicious and innovative recipe that you'd like to share with our community? Now is your chance! Every month, we will be collecting recipes that go along with our theme and share them out with the BHCC community. September's theme is "Meatless Mondays!" Send along your favorite vegetarian or vegan recipe to dish@bhcc.edu 

Red Sox Strike Out Hunger: September 17 & 18
The Greater Boston Food Bank is partnering with the Boston Red Sox for a two-day fundraiser on September 17 & 18! Support the Greater Boston Food Bank & their partner agencies (DISH is one!) by buying a ticket to this game and/or donating.

Hunger Action Day: September 23
Hunger Action Day is a time for hunger relief advocates to focus our efforts on one day for greater impact. On this day, join Boston landmarks and the Greater Boston Food Bank in going orange – the national color of hunger. Post a selfie on social media to show support and generate awareness (tag @Gr8BosFoodBank and use the hashtags #EndHungerHere or #HungerActionMonth)!

WCVB Virtual Fundraiser: September 22
Tune in to WCVB Channel 5 on Thursday, September 22 to learn more about how GBFB and our partners are serving families in need across Eastern Massachusetts, hosted by Karen Holmes Ward.

White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition & Health: September 28
Join DISH & Single Stop for a viewing party of this important advocacy event. Stay tuned for more details!

One Book with Jennifer De Leon: September 29 at 6 p.m.
The One Book program engages our college community in a dialogue about a common text that addresses a current issue. The 2022-2023 One Book selection is Jennifer De Leon’s essay collection, White Space: Culture, Race, & Writing, winner of the Juniper Prize and published by UMass Press in 2021.One Book Author Jennifer De Leon will join us in person on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 6 p.m. This event will also be streamed on the internet.

Food is an incredibly important part of a person's health & wellbeing, and getting access to fresh and nutritious products can be expensive. Come to our panel to learn more about how food pantries can be used to address nutrition-related illnesses and provide preventative care. Panelists and date TBD.
