BHCC Professor Mark Popeney Brings Music and Psychology to Life in New Podcast Series

This fall, Professor Mark Popeney, Chair of the Performing Arts Department, is stepping beyond the classroom and into the world of podcasting with his exciting new series, Nevermind the Music. Created in collaboration with his colleague and friend, Nichole Vatcher, the podcast is a deep dive into the songs you love and why you love them, delivered weekly for music lovers, pop culture enthusiasts, and psychology buffs alike. The series launched on September 10, 2024, and continues through at least September 2025, with 54 episodes in total.

Biogen Foundation Grant Restores Bunker Hill Community College Medical Interpreter Community Access Program

The Biogen Foundation has awarded Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) a $200,000 grant to support the College’s Medical Interpreter Community Access (MICA) Program. The grant will fund the Medical Interpreter program, which is free to students who meet program financial qualifications for the 2024-25 academic year.

BHCC Alum Melanie Sola Featured in MA Alliance for Early College Newsletter

Melanie Sola graduated from Madison Park Technical Vocational High School in 2020, where she participated in the Early College program with Bunker Hill Community College.Melanie was the first Boston Public School graduate with an associate degree. This propelled her to Northeastern University, where she graduated with a Business Administration and Brand Management degree.

Bunker Hill and UMass Boston Sign Joint Admissions Agreement

Future Beacons program will allow BHCC students to be admitted to UMB while completing their associate degree, enjoying benefits of both schools 

UMass Boston and Bunker Hill Community College have signed a partnership agreement to streamline the pathway from community college to four-year college through the new Future Beacon Joint Admissions Program. The partnership is intended to build a new pathway to student success and improve outcomes for community college transfer students in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
