Sondra began her career in law enforcement with the New Hampshire State Marine Patrol Unit.  She then decided to further her education in the field. Prior to joining the Criminal Justice Department at BHCC, she worked on her Ph.D. and developed her passion for teaching in the Criminal Justice Department at Temple University.  While there, her research interests included environmental criminology and youth violence.

Joshua has been teaching Criminal Justice courses at BHCC since 2013.  His previous teaching experience includes courses in history and personal finance at other community college. Before teaching, Joshua worked as a staff attorney representing low-income clients and for the Massachusetts District Attorney’s Offices.

Marc LapierreMarc A. Lapierre

Marc began working with the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office in 1994 as a Correctional Officer. After working the housing units within the jail and house of correction for a few years, he began working in the Staff Training Department. As a Training Specialist he delivered trainings in areas of suicide prevention, use of force instructor trainer, sexual and protected class instructor and investigator, and supervisory skills.  Marc has been called as an expert witness in numerous use of force cases. Prior to leaving the Sheriff’s Office in 2018, he was responsible for inmate education, rehabilitation, social services, and reentry of all inmates residing within the facility.
