Welcome to the Business Administration Department

The Business Administration Department at Bunker Hill Community College is a collegial, student-centered learning community that provides a diverse student population with innovative, creative, and relevant education in business disciplines. We strive to maximize student success by placing graduates in a competitive position when seeking employment in a business environment or upon transfer to a four-year academic institution, ultimately empowering them to compete responsibly and successfully in today’s global business environment.

Why study Business at Bunker Hill Community College

Studying business at BHCC can offer several advantages, making it a smart choice for many students. Some reasons to choose BHCC include:

  • Accessibility, Diversity, and Inclusiveness: BHCC has an open admissions policy, making it accessible to a broad range of students. This inclusivity allows individuals to start or resume their education without facing rigorous admission requirements. BHCC prides itself on providing access to non-traditional students, including adults returning to education, individuals seeking a career change, and many first-generation college students. This inclusivity creates a supportive environment for all educational journeys. Our student body reflects this diversity, with BHCC being named one of the “Colleges with the Greatest Racial and Ethnic Diversity” by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
  • Cost Savings and Transfer Opportunities: BHCC provides exceptional value for prospective students. BHCC is often more affordable than four-year institutions, making it an excellent option for individuals seeking foundational business skills. After completing an associate degree at BHCC, many students transfer to a four-year college or university to continue their education. MassTransfer benefits eligible students transferring to an in-state State University or UMass institution. Additionally, BHCC has articulation agreements specific to many business programs in surrounding 4-year institutions, guaranteeing admissions to qualified graduates.
  • Course Offerings and Schedule Flexibility: BHCC’s business courses are under six general categories; business, accounting, finance, management, computer information, and sport management. Business courses can be taken at three convenient locations, in four formats (on-site, online, hybrid, and self-directed) over days/evenings/weekends and via regular semesters or mini-sessions. This flexibility accommodates students who may have additional work or family responsibilities.
  • Career-Focused Programs: BHCC’s business programs are career-focused, providing practical skills and knowledge relevant to the local job market. Students can acquire the skills needed for entry-level positions or to start their own businesses. Our programs are designed to provide a quicker pathway into the workforce, particularly our A.S. degree programs. Students can often complete their business education in a shorter timeframe compared to four-year programs.
  • Supportive Learning Environment with Accessible Faculty: BHCC’s faculty is our strongest asset. Our professors bring professional credibility to the classroom, helping guide students in developing practical skills directly applicable in the workplace. With smaller class sizes, BHCC provides a more personalized and supportive learning environment. Students benefit from more individualized attention from their professors. This accessibility can foster strong relationships between students and faculty, providing additional support and mentorship.
