High school students from Greater Boston area schools can earn high school and college credits simultaneously while gaining familiarity with the college "experience".

Types of Dual Enrollment programs

Traditional Dual Enrollment

Through our dual enrollment program, students take college courses at BHCC while they are still in high school. Dual enrollment partners include Malden High School, Chelsea High School and thirty-five other area high schools.

BHCC Early College

Students in BHCC Early College programs participate in accelerated pathways from high school to college, allowing them to graduate high school with anywhere from 12 college credits to an associate degree. Current Massachusetts State designated BHCC Early College partners include Brighton High School, Charlestown High School, Chelsea High School, Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, and Malden High School.

You must speak to a Dual Enrollment advisor at BHCC BEFORE registering for a course. Dual Enrollment students may register for only ONE (1) course at no cost to them for FALL and SPRING semesters ONLY. Be advised that funding is not guaranteed. Please speak to a Dual Enrollment advisor at BHCC to confirm availability of funding BEFORE registering for a course. You (the student) will be responsible for the full cost of tuition and books if you would like to register for more than one course in a semester. Please check with your high school to see if they have a financial arrangement with BHCC BEFORE registering for a course.

BHCC participates in the Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Partnership (CDEP). Funding is limited and it is the responsibility of the student to reach out to a Dual Enrollment advisor at BHCC to confirm availability BEFORE registering for a course.

PLEASE NOTE: the one course limit DOES NOT apply to students in the Early College programs at Brighton High School, Charlestown High School, Chelsea High School, Edward M. Kennedy Academy for Health Careers, Madison Park Technical Vocational High School and Malden High School.

Submit an application to participate in the dual enrollment program. (Only students who have never taken a course should apply)
Obtain a copy of your unofficial high school transcript and SASID#. (You must submit this information along with your application. Your application will not be processed without them.)
Complete your placement testing through the College’s Assessment Center, or meet eligibility for Placement by High School GPA.
Register for a course by making an appointment with a BHCC Dual Enrollment Staff.
Attend a mandatory orientation session before classes begin.
