No Actual Cupcakes but Lots of Entrepreneurial Advice

Students streamed into the BHCC Auditorium on March 22, 2016, to see 33-year-old entrepreneur Johnny Earle, a.k.a. Johnny Cupcakes, taking selfies with fans in the audience. Meanwhile, Cupcake team members were handing out promotional items at the door. The self-taught businessman, it turns out, had some sound advice for Bunker Hill students, as he presented his success story, and got laughs from the audience. The BHCC Student Government Association had made a wise choice in bringing him to campus.

Bunker Hill Community College Publication Wins National Communications Award

An admissions welcome kit created by Bunker Hill Community College earned a silver award in the national communications contest sponsored annually by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). The awards, which honor outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges, were announced on March 13 at the NCMPR National Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.

Bunker Hill and MassBay Students Place 1st at Annual Mass Society of Radiologic Technologists Buzz Bowl

Bunker Hill Community College and MassBay Community College are pleased to announce a student radiology team has placed first at this year’s Massachusetts Society of Radiologic Technologists (MSRT) Buzz Bowl competition. The Buzz Bowl was part of the MSRT 85th Annual Conference. This year’s theme was “Pathways to Excellence in Diagnostic Imaging.”

Bunker Hill Community College Intern at Raytheon Wins National Internship Award

John Michael Kawooya, a BHCC student working as an intern at Raytheon in Waltham, Massachusetts, has won the national Two-Year Program Student Achievement Award from the Cooperative Education and Internship Association (CEIA). This is the second consecutive year that a BHCC student has won the award. Jared Standish, who interned at EMC in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, took home the prize last year. Both students were part of the College’s Learn and Earn program, which offers students paid internships at top companies in Greater Boston.
