Baker Administration and STEM Advisory Council Supports Career Development Experiences for BHCC Students
Friday, December 15, 2017
The Boston Private Industry Council (PIC) is one of a four Massachusetts Workforce Boards to receive a competitive grant from Governor Charlie Baker and the STEM Advisory Council to increase paid internship opportunities for high school students interested in the STEM fields.
Overall, Governor Baker and the STEM Advisory Council awarded $200,000 in grants. The grant will allow the PIC, in collaboration with the Metro North Regional Employment Board, to advance work-based learning, dual enrollment and computer science instruction. By convening local companies that hire young people for internships, the PIC will align career development experiences for students at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School and Bunker Hill Community College.
