BHCC Foundation 2018 Annual Gala Funds Student Scholarships
Tuesday, May 8, 2018Emceed by WGBH Higher Education correspondent Kirk Carapezza, the Bunker Hill Community College Foundation hosted its 2018 Annual Gala on April 26, 2018.
At the event, Carapezza brought four BHCC Foundation Scholars to the stage to tell their story in front of the nearly 200 guests in attendance. The annual event, which featured music by the BHCC Jazz Ensemble and vocalist A.J. Varrs and food prepared and served by the College’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality programs, raises money for scholarships to help BHCC students cover the total cost of attendance.
This year’s event brought the total amount raised for scholarships through the past five galas to more than $1,000,000.

These students represent @BHCCBoston at the highest level and dispute the stereotype of a #communitycollege education as being sub par. Their stories are inspirational and are not unique to our environment. Proud of our student athlete up there representing! https://t.co/9FGbk8Dfnh— DrJ-AD/BHCC (@DrJBHCC) April 27, 2018
