On Wednesday, September 26, the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC) hosted its 2018 Annual Meeting at the Federal Reserve Bank Auditorium to celebrate the launch of MassHire, a unified brand for the state’s workforce development boards, and recognize the impact of 2018 PIC Achievers.

Boston PIC Chair and First Vice President and COO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Kenneth C. Montgomery invited Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Massachusetts Labor and Workforce Development Secretary Rosalin Acosta and Boston Public Schools Interim Superintendent Laura Perille to speak at the event.

At the event, the PIC recognized individuals who embody the PIC mission and make the work possible. 2018 PIC Achievers included BHCC students Imani Exilhomme and Jennifer Bonilla, as well as the College’s Success Boston – Higher Ed Liaison Kate McKenney O’Brien.

The PIC also recognized early college partner Charlestown High School whose first C-Town Tech cohort, the Pathfinders, graduated in 2018. Pathways Coordinator Aaron Altman and C-Town Tech student Jeremy Chen represented the Pathfinders cohort at the award ceremony.
