President Eddinger Testifies on Degree Completion in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, May 09, 2019 Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) President Pam Eddinger, testified at the House Committee on Education and Labor’s subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Investment. The testimonial focused on the issue of degree completion, improving student outcomes in higher education and the steps BHCC is taking to address the issues students are facing.

Eddinger highlighted four areas where BHCC is meeting the needs of students both in and out of the classroom. The areas are: addressing the financial fragility of students, preparing the students who need developmental education support, mapping a career pathway for them and changing the traditional college student paradigm to accommodate adult learners.

Additional witnesses included University of Memphis President Dr. M. David Rudd, Dr. Susan Dynarski, Professor at the University of Michigan and Mr. Kyle Ethelbah, Director of Federal TRIO Programs at the University of Utah.
