Virtual Pinning Ceremony Celebrates Registered Nursing Class of Spring 2020

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, 27 graduates from the Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) Registered Nursing program celebrated their achievements in a virtual pinning ceremony to mark their passage from the student role to the professional role.

“We have never been more proud of our graduates,” said Elizabeth Tobin, Director, Nurse Education. “Never has a nursing class had to manage nursing in the middle of a pandemic. Your resiliency, your flexibility, and your ability to step up tells me that you are the future of nursing.”

Students Lourdes Desameau and Emily Ross addressed their peers and their family and friends watching the ceremony. “We managed to finish in the middle of a pandemic,” said Ross, congratulating her fellow graduates. “We all have the heart of a nurse, and we’re going to go out there and help the patients and nurses struggling.”
