Beamex Donates $10,000 to Empower BHCC Electric Power Utility Technology Students through Scholarship Fund

Tuesday, November 14, 2023

Beamex, a prominent leader in calibration and instrumentation solutions, has established a scholarship fund with a generous donation of $10,000 to support students enrolled in the Electric Power Utility Technology (EPUT) program at Bunker Hill Community College. This contribution is a result of the proceeds from the 2023 Annual Calibration Exchange (ACE) event organized by Beamex.

Beamex North American President Greg Sumners expressed his enthusiasm, saying “Beamex is delighted to give back. Since its inception, all proceeds from the Annual Calibration Exchange have been donated to local scholarship programs in the event’s host city. Over $100,000 has been donated over the past 11 years.”

The recipients of the scholarship, Mario Guerrero and Stephen Londono, will each receive $1,250 per semester, starting in the Fall of 2023 and concluding in the Spring of 2025. This financial support can be utilized to cover tuition, fees, and other educational expenses essential for the successful completion of their degree.

Londono, who attended the scholarship presentation at the Annual Calibration Exchange held at the MIT Museum in Cambridge, MA on October 5th, expressed his gratitude, saying,” the Beamex Scholarship will play a crucial role in covering the costs of textbooks and other educational expenses. This support not only relieves the financial strain of pursuing my education but also motivates me to work harder toward my academic goals.”

Handine Jean-Marie, Assistant Dean of Professional Studies at Bunker Hill Community College, received the donation on behalf of the students and conveyed a heartfelt message to the event attendees, saying that “the EPUT program is highly selective, and its students are dedicated and motivated. They will utilize these scholarship funds wisely and efficiently.”

The 2023 Beamex Annual Calibration Exchange was hosted at the MIT Museum in Cambridge, MA on October 4th and 5th. This two-day event featured expert speakers from various industrial automation sectors, including power and energy, pharmaceuticals, water and wastewater, and more.
