Bunker Hill Community College’s (BHCC) Integrated Marketing & Communications (IMC) Division has once again been recognized for excellence in higher education marketing and storytelling, earning five Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 1.
The Medallion Awards celebrate outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges across the northeast region. This year’s honors underscore BHCC’s continued leadership in design, storytelling, and brand strategy.
Excellence in Writing and Publication
BHCC received three awards for its flagship publication, BHCC Magazine, showcasing the College’s leadership in editorial storytelling and design, including two Gold Medallions for Excellence in Writing, Long Form and Short Form:
- Cover Feature “Education for Everyone: Two Years of Investment Leads to Free Community College, Boost in Enrollment” explored the statewide rollout of MassEducate and its transformative impact on access and workforce development.
- Staff Spotlight on Laura Boucher profiled the longtime Technology Support Services analyst whose career has supported decades of educational innovation.
The Spring 2025 edition of BHCC Magazine was also recognized with a Bronze Medallion in the Magazine Large-Scale category. The issue captured the College’s role in expanding access, celebrating innovation, and strengthening partnerships across Massachusetts.
Excellence in Advertising
BHCC also received two awards recognizing the reach and impact of its print advertising campaign, including a:
- Gold Medallion for “Bunker Hill is Dorchester’s Community College”, a full-page ad placed in the Dorchester Reporter, highlighting BHCC’s role as Dorchester’s leading community college and an engine for workforce and economic development
- Silver Medallion for a pair of full-page ads featured in the Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox Yearbooks. The campaigns “Swing for Success” and “Your Winning Season Starts Here” tapped into Boston’s sports pride to promote BHCC’s programs and the state’s free community college initiatives.
Together, these honors recognize BHCC’s ability to tell meaningful stories, celebrate its community, and elevate the College’s presence across Massachusetts.
