Selective Admission Program Information

Bunker Hill Community College offers a variety of selective admission programs at our Charlestown and Chelsea Campuses. Selective admission programs require students to complete select prerequisite courses and/or meet other requirements before you are eligible for admission. If you are interested in a selective program, please view the additional requirements below. The requirements will be explained in detail at one of our information sessions, which are held throughout the year for most programs.   • Priority Deadline: Applicants who have completed all application requirements by this date can apply and submit the application for admission review.
  • Final Deadline: Applicants who have completed all application requirements by this date can apply and submit the application for admission review based on seat availability or until the program is full up to 10 business days prior to the start of the semester (whichever comes first).
  • Rolling Admissions: Applicants who have completed all application requirements. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Applications will be accepted based on seat availability or until the program is full up to 10 business days prior to the start of the semester (whichever comes first)

Cardiac Sonography

  • All requirements below must be completed before the application deadline
  • All courses must be with a grade of C or higher
  • If you have not completed all of the requirements below before the application deadline, you will work with an Academic Advisor to select your classes if interested in applying for the next academic year
  • Submit a copy of your final high school Diploma/Transcript or GED/Hi-Set certification
  • If you graduated High School from outside of the United States, please submit the original and translated documentation of High School
  • Attend a mandatory Medical Imaging information session. Register here!
    • Currently all information sessions are held virtually (online)
  • Completion of any three credit College level Algebra or Statistics course
  • Completion of one semester of College level Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab
    • Course must have been taken within the last 10 years to be considered for admission, unless currently working in a related healthcare profession
    • Applicants who have applicable work experience will need to submit a letter on letterhead from their supervisor. Additional documentation may be required. Approval is not guaranteed and subject to change.
    • Applicants must score a minimum of 47.6% on Reading, 46.7% on Math and 47.6% on English/language.
  • Complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS VII)
    • Take the TEAS VII test within ONE YEAR of the application deadline (30 days between attempts)
    • Applicants must score a minimum of 47.6% on Reading, 46.7% on Math and 47.6% on English/language.
    • The highest scores in each section of the first two attempts will be considered
  • If accepted into the program, and students do not have a college physics course, with a grade of C or higher completed, students will need to complete BHCC’s MIG-111 – Imaging Technology I the summer prior to the start of the program. MIG-111 is offered online over the summer only to accepted students.
  • If accepted into the program, as a prerequisite for a clinical placement or internship, this program requires that all students must undergo a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and a Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check. Central Processing Certificate Program

Magnetic Resonance

This program is on hiatus for one year.

Nursing Criteria Checklist

  • Completion of College Writing I or equivalent
  • Completion of One year of high school chemistry with lab OR one semester of college chemistry with lab.
  • Complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS VII)
    • Take the TEAS VII test within ONE YEAR of the application deadline (30 days between attempts).
    • Applicants must score a minimum of 60% in all sections: Reading, Math, English and Science
    • Only the first two attempts will be considered
  • If accepted into the program, as a prerequisite for a clinical placement or internship, this program requires that all students must undergo a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and a Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check.   • Complete the English placement test and place higher than ENG-095, Writing Skills II or the course with a grade of C or higher
  • Complete the math placement test and place higher than MAT 097, Foundations of Algebra or complete the course with a grade of C or higher
  • Complete BIO 108, Human Biology with a laboratory component and earn a grade of C or higher

Professional Studies Selective Admission Programs

Early Childhood Development with Child Development Associate Credential Certificate

Start Term Available : Fall start – September 2025

  • Must have completed a minimum of three Early Childhood Education courses with a grade C or better
  • Must have completed within the last 3 years 300 hours of professional work experience in a group setting supervised by a professional Early Childhood educator.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have U.S. Work Authorization
  • Must have completed 120 hours of formal training in Early Childhood Education in subject areas covered by the Early Childhood Development with Child Development Associate Credential Certificate

  • All Medical Laboratory Technician students are required to: undergo a physical examination, complete the necessary immunization forms, including a three (3) dose Hepatitis B immunization series; carry malpractice and health insurance
  • If accepted into the program, as a prerequisite for a clinical placement or internship this program requires that all students must undergo a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and a Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check.
