The workshops introduce students to free BHCC resources they can use to make connections between their goals and four-year colleges.
These workshops are held virtually and on-campus.

Transfer 101 – Prepare and Explore | 0-30 credits
Transfer 101’s focus on the first two stages of transferring: Planning and Exploring. Students will receive an overview of statewide transfer programs and incentives, attaining academic potential, how to transfer credits, searching for colleges, and other resources to clarify the transfer process. We customize workshops for Pathways, Competitive Colleges, and Preparing for Transfer Week.
Recommended for students with 0-30 credits and who are learning about transferring for the first time and who are. It’s never too early to begin thinking about transfer!

Transfer 102 – Apply and Decide | 31–60 credits
Transfer 102 will focus on the final two stages of transferring: Applying and Deciding. Recommended for students who have attended Transfer 101 Workshop. Topics that will be covered include: applying to four-year colleges and making informed decisions on which colleges to attend, requesting letters of recommendations, writing your transfer essays, and using the Common Application.
Recommended for students with 31-60 credits.

This workshop is designed for students who want to apply for scholarships or understand how to fund your degree. It is recommended for students who are planning or have already applied to a four-year institution, but is not required.

Transfer Application Sessions
Are you preparing to graduate and working on your transfer applications? This session is designed to give you the time and space to focus. Feel free to come and go as you like—there’s no formal start time, so drop in whenever it works for you. We offer sessions tailored to your transfer goals, including:
- General Application Sessions (virtual and in-person)
- MassTransfer-Focused Sessions
- Partner College Sessions
You'll have access to a quiet workspace where you can work independently on your four-year college applications - whether you're starting your Common App, drafting your transfer essay, or gathering materials. A transfer advisor will be available to help with questions, offer guidance on where to begin, and point you toward helpful resources.
While this isn't a formal workshop with step-by-step instruction, it's a great opportunity to get support with those tricky or unclear parts of the process. Use the time in whatever way works best for you.
Desktop computers will be available for in-person sessions, or feel free to bring your laptop, drafts, and questions. We're here to help you move forward!

UMass Lowell Joint Admissions Info Session
Interested in attending BHCC and then UMass Lowell? Come learn about our Joint Admissions program. A representative from BHCC and from UMass Lowell will be present and able to answer all of your transfer questions.

UMass Boston Joint Admissions Information Session
The Future Beacons Joint Admissions partnership provides guided support and a seamless transfer experience to ensure a successful transition from your Associate degree at BHCC to your Bachelor degree at UMass Boston. Students will enjoy benefits such as:
- Advising from both BHCC and UMass Boston advisors to ensure your credits will transfer
- UMass Boston ID card with access to campus facilities
- Invitations to special events
- MassTransfer Cost Savings with a 3.0 or higher for any Associate degree
- Consideration for special Future Beacons merit scholarships
- Early course registration upon transfer to UMass Boston

Lesley University Joint Admissions Information Session
Lesley University and Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) are excited to announce a new Joint Admissions transfer program for BHCC students to gain admission to Lesley University while enrolled at BHCC. Participants complete their Associate degree at BHCC with in-depth advising support and an integrated transition plan to complete their Bachelor’s degree at Lesley on campus or online.
