The Journey of Eduardo Gunkla

Paintings and Photo Collages by Donald Langosy | Through January 9, 2026

This exhibit is a new series of oil paintings and photo collages by Donald Langosy, exploring his personal journey and reflections on the loss of two close friends. Langosy describes the linked works as "an autobiography of my thoughts" to make sense of his grief.

Sketch, Shade, Smudge: Drawing from Gray to Black  |  Through January 18, 2026

Showcasing around 120 captivating works, spanning from the 19th to 21st centuries, alongside artists’ materials from the HAM, this exhibition celebrates the act of drawing using familiar tools – charcoal, chalk, crayon, and graphite.  Discover how simple tools can be powerful vehicles for artistic expression.

This exhibition raises questions of whose legacy is preserved and what stories a metropolis reveals and pays homage to a seminal African American artist whose work celebrated, recorded, and spoke to Boston’s Black community.

Visions of Black Madonnas  |  Through January 19, 2026

Presented as a companion to Allan Rohan Crite: Urban Glory, this exhibition examines the diverse theological and cultural motivations behind depicting the Holy Family as Black. The works underscore Crite’s powerful legacy, specifically illuminating how his choice to feature dark-skinned Madonnas celebrated and honored his own diverse community.

Faces in the Crowd: Street Photography  |  Through July 13, 2026 

Drawn to photography’s narrative potential, many employ the camera as a tool of transformation, taking everyday pictures from the ordinary to the strangely beautiful or even ominous. This exhibit explores the evolving techniques photographers have used to record the human experience as it has played out in populous urban spaces—from Harlem and Los Angeles to Tokyo and Istanbul—over five decades.

Medicine Joy: Spaces for Dreaming, Places for Healing
Works by Robin M. Chandler

This exhibition is a year-long immersive experience in the College’s commitment to the oneness of humanity, re-affirming our connections with one another as global citizens, and in-classroom artist-scholar sessions. This co-creation of community embraces dreams of world peace and the healing power of the arts! The exhibition will feature a tribute installation to international icon and superstar, Celia Cruz.

The Art Gallery is open Monday – Friday, 12 - 4 p.m. Admission to the Art Gallery and related events are free and open to the public

Welcome to the New England Film Festival, an international film festival created by artists for artists. Showing a series of short films, this is designed to be a platform to be together in the process of film creation, to get to know works from around the world and to connect with other creators who have that need to create and join together to make works.

This festival offers a space for learning through the award winners who will talk about the process of creating their works through videos in which communication and interaction with the public will be opened since there is a space dedicated to audiovisual education, learning and collaboration.
