Professional Development Day Explores Essentials of Student Success

Faculty and staff participated in lively discussions as part of Professional Development Day on Thursday, May 21, 2015.

‌In small groups, participants explored six working concepts that have emerged out of collective efforts to increase student success: (1) Inquiry and Evidence-Based Practice; (2) Collaborative Leadership and Innovation; (3) Student-Centered Curricular Design; (4) Holistic and Integrated Student Development; (5) Culturally Inclusive Pedagogical Practice; and (6) Reciprocal and Sustainable Partnerships. Professional Development Day

The six working concepts offer a framework for integrating ongoing efforts to achieve inclusive excellence. The discussions, in which 137 faculty and staff participated, were facilitated by a team of 18 faculty and professional staff from across disciplines and work areas.
