STEM Summer Academy

BHCC’s STEM Summer Academy provides students majoring in select majors only access to free summer courses as well as extra course support, field trips, workshops and STEM networking events.

Students majoring in the below listed majors may select one of the following courses for free if they qualify for the STEM Summer Academy.

Summer 2025 Schedule

CSC-120-02 Intro to Computer Sci/OOP I 6/2/25-8/1/25
Hybrid Class meets in person Tuesdays 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and remotely on Thursdays 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

ENR-101-01 Intro to Engineering I 6/2/25-8/1/25
Meets in person 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays 

MAT 181-WB1 Statistics I Fully Online 6/2/24-8/22/25

MAT-099-01C/MAT-194-01C Cluster Intermediate and College Algebra for STEM I 6/2/25-8/1/25
Meets remotely Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am-11:45 am and in person Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.  

GIS224-200 Geographic Information Systems I 6/2/25-8/1/25
Meets in person Mondays and Wednesdays 6-8 p.m.

To qualify for any of these free classes you MUST

  • be a current BHCC STEM student
  • be available to attend at least 1 event during the summer (virtual workshop or in person field trip)
  • have a declared STEM major in one of the following Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Science, Physics, Computer Science (Transfer and Concentration), Data Analytics & Data Management, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, or Object Orientated Computer Programming.
