MassHire CIS
The MassHire Career Information System, or MassHire CIS, is a free online career resource through the State of Massachusetts. Students can use MassHire CIS to find employment data, learn about average wages, watch videos about daily responsibilities, and more! Students can also use MassHire CIS to complete self-assessments and learn about which Massachusetts colleges and universities offer educational programs that match their career interests.

Only use this username and password for your first log in. After logging in for the first time, students must create a personal account to save any assessment results and career information.
Assessments
- Career Cluster Inventory: Answer questions about tasks/activities you would like/dislike doing to match your interests with the 16 Career Clusters.
- Students use Career Clusters to identify career fields and possible occupations within that field.
- A Career Cluster is another name for a grouping of similar occupations. For example the Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security Career Cluster includes occupations such as: firefighters, corrections officers, and paralegal.

- Interest Profiler/ Interest Profiler Short Form: You can choose to complete the long or short version of this assessment, Rate activities you like or dislike in order to learn about how your interests relate to different career fields.
- Students use the results of the Interest Profiler to learn about how their interests align with possible occupations and careers.
- Occupational interests are related to specific work tasks that you may prefer. For example, students with Artistic results may see jobs related to architecture, video game design, and theatre or fine arts.

- Occupations Filter: Students can discover occupations based on their selection of personal values and interests, salary, level of educational training, and more.
- These exploratory tools help students find careers that may be a good fit by creating career lists based on student selected criteria. These tools do not create lists of careers that a student should do but lists careers that match factors students self-selected as important to them.
