Transition to On-Campus Operations – Frequently Asked Questions

A statewide policy for the Massachusetts community colleges has been approved by the Council of Presidents, for implementation this fall, and is under review by impacted unions.  Review and approval is expected soon, and details and instructions will be distributed upon approval.

Yes, the Council of Presidents has agreed to have a mask requirement in the fall for all students/staff/faculty coming to campus.

Yes, there are masks available at the entrances.

Yes, managers of student service areas may submit requests for plexiglass barriers to the Transition Team.  

Yes, there will be designated areas for students to stay before and after classes.

Seating has been ordered for staff and students for outside use.

Yes, the café will be open. The cafeteria will not be serving food, but the seating area will be open.  Vending machines will be available.

Yes, water fillers and fountains will be available.

The refrigerator and the microwave are available in Charlestown and in Chelsea. Seating currently is not set up for eating. Staff and faculty are encouraged to have meals in their offices.

Yes, the bookstore will be open on campus and also virtually. Online orders are encouraged.
